Julio is a Colombian born actor based in Vancouver, BC. Julio is a graduate from the Bachelor of Performing Arts at Capilano University and the Acting for Film and TV program at Vancouver Film School, where he worked as a Teaching Assistant  and currently as a Movement and Acting Instructor at the Acting Campus; the same as teaching for The Arts Club and other institutions around metro Vancouver.

He has appeared in independent theatrical productions in Colombia such as “Los tiempos del Ruido” produced by the famous Teatro LaMAMA, and in musical theatre adaptations of classic fairy tales such as “Sleeping Beauty” and “Alice in Wonderland”. He has starred in theatrical adaptations of  Edgar Allan Poe's “The Tell-tale Heart” and “The Black Cat”. More recently he's been seen on "Low Pay! Don't pay!" Directed by the talented Chloe Payne and acting in French in "La Befana" produced by Le Théâtre la Seizième directed by Emilie Leclerc and in winter 2024 his debut with The Arts Club in "Miracle on 34th Street" directed by Omari Newton.
 

He has had the opportunity to tour through Canada, Europe and Colombia with theatre and circus style performances, mostly dedicated to young audiences.


When it comes to film acting, he has been casted in many projects, but his major role to date has been the gentle father Pedro in the feature movie Caliban (The banished) by Colombian director David Bohórquez. He also has had the chance of being cast in several commercial ads and a recurring role as the young Ignacio in the first sci-fi series produced in Latin-America “KDABRA”. Recently he has appeared in Superman&Lois, YellowJackets and television movie Yoga Teacher Killer.
 

He moved to Canada in order to pursue broader horizons and new challenges. He wants to continue acting on stage, alongside film acting for as long as he can, as he truly believes the magic of theatrical productions is irreplaceable.

Julio 
has extensive and intensive physical theatre and performance training from around the world and, he has had the opportunity to find a huge passion in teaching. Over the years he has been both an acting coach and a language instructor to people of different ages. He believes that sharing knowledge with others is a great way in which it is possible to help others grow, as well as discovering what moves them in life, while learning about himself too. He wants alongside acting to work consistently as a teacher/instructor/coach to not only help others develop their passions, but to continue finding his own, through the eyes of others.

Julio is fluent in English, Spanish, Danish and French. He works with masks, improv and physical theatre, which he considers one of his strongest assets as an actor and in general he has a passion for theatre and creating performances for and with children, teenagers and all public in general. He also considers himself a good cook, communicator and driver.
